Just like every year it was time for the Hellenic Spaniel Club show. The weather was surprisingly (for the Greek standards ! ) cold, cloudy and rainy. It didn't interfere with the happy atmosphere though. The judge was Mr George Kostopoulos from Greece with a total of 27 entries (believe me it's an improvement !!! ) Lewis (Venilil White Knight) came 2nd in Junior Class and in the Junior Handling competition (my last time for the Spaniel Club) we got the 1st place :-)

Not actually news as we haven't had any dog shows here the last months and we won't till mid September. However, we would like to share with you these lovely photos of Alma (Venilil Water Lilly) enjoying her summer holidays in the beautiful Greek Islands.
What a special day, it has already been a year since our first litter of puppies !!! We want to say a big "Thank you" to all the owners for taking such good care of them and giving them the love and devotion they totally deserve :) So.... Happy Birthday to: Chloe, Chelsea, Millou, Lucy, Hamlet, Alma and last but definitely not least to our very own and beloved Lewis, who has filled our life with happiness ever since !!! (For more pictures of Lewis, visit his own page & photos)
Happy Birthday to our dear Lilly who is now 3 years old and a proud mummy !!! :)
Happy Birthday to our dear Oliver !!! 7 Years old already.Time passes by so fast. He has been through some health problems but now he is fine and we hope he will be healthy and here with us for a looong time :)
On the 11th and 10th of May we went to the Greek Kennel Club double international dog-show and we had some excellent results. On Sunday, my 17th birthday, I couldn't have asked for a better "gift". It was Lewis first time in Junior Class and he got Excellent, Best Junior in Breed and then went on to win his first Best Of Breed and he is only 9 months old !!! We were very happy and proud as you can guess :) Unfortunately Lilly didn't do well, she only got "very-good", judge was Mr.Paul Stanton from Sweden. At the Junior Handling competition I was 1st with Lewis judge was Mr.S.Makaritis from Greece.Lewis wasn't placed neither in the group nor for BIS Junior, there were many quality dogs from other countries aswell but I was still proud for the perfect way he showed !
Saturday wasn't the best day for us.Lewis got "Excellent" and 2nd in Junior Class and Lilly "Very-Good" judge was Mr.Istvan Nagy from Hungary. Nevertheless I showed my friends papillons and we did really well there (Gr.Ch Inkies Bohemian Rhapsodie) was BOB and her 3 month old daughter (Daisy De Halara Mykonos) was best baby in breed ! In Junior Handling I went with Lewis and we came 1st by the greek judge Mr.V.Balakas.
On Sunday 6/4 we entered Lilly and Lewis.Unfortunately we couldn't bring Lilly because she was in season. However Lewis made us very proud once more,he won Best Male Puppy and then BOB Puppy under a tough competition judged by Mr H.Kliebenstein from Germany. You can read Lewis evaluation here. In Junior Handling competition judge was Mr K.Edh from Sweden, I showed Lewis for the first time and as he never lets me down he showed perfectly and we came 1st !!! Saturday 5/4 I only went to show my friend's 10 year old papillon Silk (Gr.Ch Kingshaven Pure Silk) and he did really well. He was Best Veteran in Breed and then went on and got the BOB.He was not placed in the finals but he showed really well for his age !!!
The last days have been quite busy grooming and preparing the puppies for the show in April. We were really pleased to see Chelsea(Venilil Moonlight Shadow) and Chloe(Venilil First Glance),they are developing really nicely with amazing characters and the owners are very happy with them. Now we'll have to wait and see how they'll do on the "big day" !!! Chelsea and Chloe (for more photos click ~here~ )
10/3/2008 We are back from our short trip to England and ofcourse our main reason was to visit Crufts'08 the world's biggest dog show. First time for me (Emily) and third for my dad (Lefteris). The excitement and amazement was the same though. So many quality dogs, from all over the world in one show. The English Cocker was the third most popular breed with around 400 entries. Mrs S.Young(Canyonn) was the judge for the dogs and for the bitches Mr D.Shields (Wilholme). Best of breed was a lovely black bitch, ASQUANNE GINELLE JW who also came 2nd in the Gundog group. The variety of shops was suprising, you can get anything you want in reasonable prices. We were really happy to meet our friend Jeanne from Holland and her beautiful ESS Maddie, who was shortlisted under a very tough competition ! Well done girls :) We had an amazing time at Crufts,it's an experience that everyone should take the chance to live and we hope we will be there next year aswell. BOB,RBOB,BPIB Maddie
17/2/2008 It's been unusually cold and snowy here the last days. The dogs are having a great time playing like mad in the snow. For Lilly and Lewis it's the first time they have seen it and they enjoy it so much as well as Oliver !!! It's getting stronger and stronger by the minute so we think we'll have even more tomorrow... :
19/1/2008 Some new pictures of the dogs...!!!
7/01/2008 We finally had the time to take some new pictures of Lewis (Venilil White Knight). He is 5,5 months now and ofcourse he still has his un-groomed puppy coat,so it is not really easy to see his proportions.! 3/01/2008 Finally Venilil July Miracle, the last puppy from our gang, left today. We hope Hamlet and his owners will have a safe journey back to Kavala and we wish him good luck in the show ring...!
We would like to share with you some new pictures of Venilil Water Lilly *Alma* and Venilil Moonlight Shadow *Chelsea*.We are very happy and it gives us such a pleasant feeling knowing that they are having a wonderful life with their owners !!! 1/01/2008 HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!We hope 2008 will be full of health, happiness and success. ΚΑΛΗ ΧΡΟΝΙΑ !!! Ελπίζουμε το 2008 να είναι γεμάτο υγεία,χαρά και επιτυχία. |

Lucy (Venilil Sparkling Diamond) left today with her new owners. It was more difficult to say "goodbye" as she was with us for 4 months and we got really close to her. We just want to wish her and her new owners a very healthy and happy life and we will keep in touch.
Today Lewis is 4 months old so we decided to take some new pictures. We tried for stand photos but none of them where good enough,so maybe another day we will be luckier.
We had a lovely time visiting Chloe (Venilil First Glance) and her owners. She has grown up so nicely and we really think that she has her fathers head but mummys temperament. It was so nice as we took Lewis with us and they had a very tiring but enjoyable day playing with Chloe. Here you can see some pictures.
Another nice dog show with good results.Lewis won Best Baby in Breed and BIS BABY 4th.Lilly was placed 1st in Open Class and she got the CAC she need it. Alma(Venilil Water Lilly) was placed 1st in her class and reserve best baby in breed and Emily 1st Best junior handler. Click here for more photos and evaluations. We were really sad to say goodbye to Alma as after the show she left with her new owners to Thessalonika. We wish them a very healthy, happy and lucky life...
